Ted Fürst is an urban redevelopment consultant with expertise revitalizing downtown corridors, developing vibrant neighborhoods, and creating lively public spaces. Combining his experience and training in development, urban planning, and design, he works with clients to create engaging public realms and thriving commerce hubs that generate revenue and become key economic drivers to increasing real estate asset values.

For the past 20 years, Ted has led projects across the U.S. and internationally, ranging from pre-development planning, revenue generation, and retail leasing to public space design and programming, community outreach, and site operations.

Prior to living in Boston he worked for Vail Resorts on master planning and resort expansion initiatives to boost the firm’s resort portfolio into four-season destinations. This included capital projects for slope-side and base-area public space improvements, amenity upgrades, and mountain-side infrastructure expansion across the four-resort complex (which included Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Breckenridge).

Ted’s combination of business and community-based experience allows him to bridge the gap between developers and community groups to help move project issues ahead. He is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the Urban Development Council, a former director of the Beacon Civic Association, former chairman of the Beacon Hill Architecture Committee, and director of the Cambridge Street Community Development Corporation.

Ted holds two degrees from Union College: a Bachelor of Arts in economics (for which he wrote a thesis on ski resort development and expansion) and a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts, with a focus on design and engineering.
